Hooks (hooks.video) is run by Future Labs Holdings Inc. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account: your email and password. Passwords are stored hashed by our auth provider; we never see them.
- Videos: the videos you upload, frames and audio taken from them, the transcript, and the videos we make.
- People on camera: the first name you give for each person, and your confirmation that you have their permission, with the time and a hashed (not raw) IP address.
- Payments: Stripe handles your card. We keep your Stripe customer ID, what you bought, and your credit history. We never see or store your card number.
- API keys: stored hashed. We only show a key once, when you create it.
- Technical: server logs and a hashed IP address used to stop abuse such as mass signups.
What we use it for
To make your hooks, run your account and billing, prevent fraud and abuse, answer support requests, and send you messages about your account. We don't sell your data, we don't use your videos for advertising, and we don't use them to train AI models.
Cookies and tracking
We keep your sign-in in your browser's local storage. This site has no advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel: hosts the site and API.
- Supabase: database, sign-in and video storage.
- Stripe: payments.
- Modal: runs the video processing.
- fal.ai: runs the AI models (including Google's), which receive frames, audio and text from your video to make each hook. Files sent to fal.ai are kept for a limited time under their own policy.
They only get what they need to do their part, and these companies may process data in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep your videos and results while your account exists so you can download them again. Delete your account from your account page and we delete your uploads, your results and your sign-in right away. We keep payment records as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can download your videos and delete your account any time. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may also have the right to access, correct or get a copy of your data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're on camera in someone else's video and didn't agree to it, tell us and we'll look into it.
Children
Hooks is for adults. Don't use it if you're under 18, and don't upload videos of anyone under 18.
Changes
If we make a material change, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
